Travel insurance

Participants are required to have travel insurance covering the special risks of mountain mountaineering off the beaten track and / or snowboarding outside the piste (such as search, rescue, etc.). For travel outside of Europe, you need to complete a travel insurance with world coverage! These obligations, which we set as a travel organizer, serve solely for the protection of the participant (due to high medical, S.O.S. or transport costs in mountain areas). Inform yourself with your insurance company. If you are already insured elsewhere, we strongly recommend that you carefully check that the ‘high-mountain and off-peak risk’ are adequately covered on these points. If your insurance does not cover such risks, we advise you to conclude travel insurance with special sports / winter sports and / or mountain sports.

Changes in registration

If the participant wishes to change something after booking, you may be subject to additional fees.

Changes to program

All programs and prices are subject to change. The organizers reserve the right to cancel a course, camp or tour or make changes to the travel route and / or program, if deemed reasonable by them (eg. weather conditions, insufficient participants, etc.). Changes to the amounts stated in the brochure and on the website of Steez Snowboard Experiences are possible in the following cases: Price changes by third parties (lift and hotel prices), Program changes (eg due to weather conditions).

Insufficient participants

All activities are based on a minimum number of participants. If this minimum number of registrations is not met, we will contact you timely. If there are enough participants due to skiers joining, we will add them to the group. There will be a ski or snowboard guide. In case of too few participants we reserve the right to cancel the camp, tour, trip, or course. You will receive a message as soon as possible (no later than 2 weeks in advance), after which we will refund you the amount paid immediately.

Operational conditions

If we are hampered by force majeure, war, strike or transport difficulties in our organizational and executive function, bookings can be canceled without refunds.

In all mountaineering activities there is an increased risk (falls, avalanches, rock, falls in glacial plains, altitude sickness, freezing, etc.) of injuries and accidents that, despite the preventive and knowledgeable actions of our qualified guides, are not fully reduced and can be ruled out. The participant must bear the alpine residual risk. Also a fully qualified mountain guide is not infallible. In the high mountain (s)he can face boundary situations that are not fully manageable. Their only task is to minimize the risk. Of course, the guides of Steez Snowboard Experiences or guides that Steez Snowboard Experiences hire to carry out the trips in a safe and responsible manner. By booking an off-piste or backcountry trip at Steez Snowboard Experiences, you are aware of and accept the increased hazards and risks of mountain sports. Furthermore, it is important to know that rescue and medical care can be limited in the mountains and remote areas, and even minor events can therefore have serious consequences. In this light, the participants are considered to be responsible for their own behavior and to prepare themselves adequately for the journey. If a participant during any point of the trip feels (s)he is unable to continue for whatever reason, (s)he must immediately inform the guide.

Steez Snowboard Experiences is generally not liable for damage, theft, loss, injury or accident caused to the participants. Also, no liability is accepted for damage caused to the participants by using any accommodation provided by our organization, including hotels, cabins, lifts, climbing and skiing / snowboarding equipment, etc. Neither shall we as organizers may be held liable for delay and / or damage suffered by participants due to mechanical breakdown, border crossing, natural disasters (eg. avalanches), revolution, (acts of) war, strike, illness or other causes. The participant is liable for theft or loss of the materials provided by Steez Snowboard Experiences.

The guides reserve the right to change a previously specified route if this is in the interests of the group. In addition, the guides reserve the right to exclude (further) participation if, in their opinion, mental or physical problems reveal themselves to such an extent that the trip or course is in their opinion difficult or threatened. This provision also applies in case of misconduct. All resulting consequences and costs will be carried by the excluded participant(s). The person concerned is not entitled to a refund of the travel sum or part thereof. If a participant ends his / her trip prematurely and on his / her own initiative or does not want to participate on a portion of the trip, he / she is not entitled to a refund of the travel sum or part thereof and additional costs may be incurred by the participant.

We strongly advise you to prepare for the off-piste / backcountry camp, trip, or course by training prior to the camp, trip, or course and making sure you are well rested before departure.
